I’m so excited to meet you! My name is Alyssa Kull and I’m a Licensed Social Worker at Ally Psychological Services. I have experience working in many different settings with a variety of populations, such as an inpatient mental health facility for children, schools, and homes. Most recently though, before joining Ally Psych, I worked as an outpatient therapist in a community mental health agency for both children and adults!
I specialize in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Above all else, I’m committed to providing a space for people of all ages, genders, sexualities, shapes, ethnicities, and religions to feel comfortable, safe, supported, and validated. I believe that developing connection is the first step in guiding you to find new ways to solve problems, improve your understanding of self, and support you in living the life you deserve.
Whether I’m working with you or your child, I want all of my clients to feel like they matter, are valued, and are respected. I want you or your child to look forward to coming to every session and feel like this is your space. I never want you to leave my office feeling unheard. I want you to know and to truly feel that you are not alone in whatever it is you’re going through.
When I’m not working, I’m usually reading super nerdy books about psychology and the brain or whatever book is super popular on social media (I somehow always read them BEFORE they become a trend). I love staying active and spending as much time as I can down the shore between spring and fall.
- I’ve had my tonsils taken out. Twice. (They missed the first time.)
- I lived in Australia for 6 months.
- I’ve held a blind koala bear in my arms.
- I was a nanny for almost 10 years.
- I’m so clumsy and injury-prone that I keep a pair of crutches in my house and another pair in my car. They’ve come in handy an embarrassing amount of times.
- I’ve found and rescued 9 missing animals (cats/dogs) by absolute happenstance. (You really do find things when you aren’t actively searching for them.)
I graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I attended the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice where I received my Master’s in Social Work.
When we speak on the phone, we want to take the time to answer any questions you have about therapy with us. During our initial chat, we will go over policies and fees for the type and length of the sessions that fit you best.
We want you to make the most informed decision about your therapy journey.
We invest our time, money, and energy into so many things each week: salon visits, gym memberships, personal training, dining out, and new stuff. Most people invest on visible and tangible things but neglect essentials they (and others) can’t see.
Ask yourself – are you doing everything you should be for your mental health?
