Hi, my name is Dr. Jennifer McLaren (but please, call me Dr. Jen), I am a PA licensed psychologist and a PA certified school psychologist as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in several settings including public schools, approved private schools, BHRS/IBHS programs, private practices, and outpatient clinics. Before joining Ally Psych, I served as the Director of Evaluations at the Center for Autism.
My passion for working with younger clients has allowed me to gain experience working with a wide variety of clients, including those diagnosed with autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, neonatal absence syndrome, ADHD, anxiety, emotional/behavioral problems. I also help parents navigate the stressors of raising a child. I also have extensive experience in assessment, program administration, training, speaking, workshop facilitation, supervision, and direct service provision.
I’m trained and experienced in play therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and animal assisted therapy. Whether I’m helping you work through parenting stressors or with your child and their behaviors, I use a strength-based approach in order to help build resiliency in all of my clients.
When I’m not working, I’m momming it up with my three children enjoying giggles and acting silly. I also enjoy taking nature walks and hiking, as well as meditating.

When we speak on the phone, we want to take the time to answer any questions you have about therapy with us. During our initial chat, we will go over policies and fees for the type and length of the sessions that fit you best.
We want you to make the most informed decision about your therapy journey.
We invest our time, money, and energy into so many things each week: salon visits, gym memberships, personal training, dining out, and new stuff. Most people invest on visible and tangible things but neglect essentials they (and others) can’t see.
Ask yourself – are you doing everything you should be for your mental health?
