At Ally Psychological Services, we provide comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Evaluations that are tailored to meet the needs of each client, taking into account their unique qualities and traits. Whether this is the first time you’re looking to get a diagnostic evaluation to confirm suspicions you’ve had, or if you want a second opinion, we will make the process as smooth as possible.
We understand the importance of getting an accurate and comprehensive evaluation that addresses all of your concerns and questions. You don’t have the time, resources, or energy to waste on an evaluation that feels incomplete to you. You need an evaluation that provides answers and realistic recommendations.
We take a holistic view of the child seeking information from key stakeholders in the child’s life. A thorough assessment process leads to specific recommendations which will assist your child with capitalizing on their strengths and overcoming their challenges.
From our first phone call to the last session, we want to make sure you feel comfortable and understand everything that’s being done and said. An evaluation is only as good as its recommendations, and recommendations are only helpful if they’re realistic and make sense to you. After the evaluation is completed, we will sit down with you to go over the results and our recommendations and make sure that we answer any questions you might have.
The reasons for requesting an Autism Spectrum Disorder Comprehensive Evaluation are unique to each individual. Some common reasons include:
- Your child’s Pediatrician has recommended your child be evaluated for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- You have concerns about your child’s behaviors, development, or achievement and want to assess for the possibility of ASD.
- You feel a diagnosis may bring a sense of relief and confirmation that there are reasons for your or your child’s challenges.
- You want to identify your strengths and learn about resources specific to you.
At Ally Psychological Services, you will receive a comprehensive ASD evaluation designed to identify you or your child’s specific needs. We will also work with you or your child’s school district and other providers to help ensure our recommendations are fully understood. When appropriate, we will also provide referrals to services providers such as Occupational Therapists and/or ABA services.
Yes! In order to appropriately evaluate and determine if someone meets criteria for a diagnosis of ASD, we utilize a full battery of tests that will include assessments of cognitive and academic abilities when appropriate.
Usually, an evaluation requires two to three visits, each lasting three to four hours (with breaks). Depending on your needs, some of the interviews may be able to occur virtually. When appropriate, we also conduct school observations and meet with teachers, staff, and other professionals in the student’s school.
Our comprehensive evaluation costs $3,500*. This includes all interviews, assessments, and a feedback session where we go over the results and recommendations of the evaluation with you in detail.
Although we do not accept insurance, you may be entitled to reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your plan’s benefits and the type of evaluation provided. It is also possible that your school district will cover some or all of the costs for the evaluation.
Currently, we accept cash, check, credit, debit, or your HSA card for payments. Payment is due in full at the start of the first session unless other arrangements have been made and agreed upon. We will also provide you with a detailed invoice and Superbill upon request.
*An additional charge of $1,000 is required for any Forensic (legal) evaluation.
Absolutely! Talking to teachers, faculty, and other important people in your child’s life is an important part of our process to ensure we provide the highest quality report and recommendations. We understand the importance of this evaluation for your child’s success and will not take any shortcuts throughout the process.
Yup! When we complete the evaluation and have the results and recommendations we will sit down with you for a “feedback session.” During this session, we will review the results, recommendations, provide referrals, and answer any other questions you might have.
We are thrilled to be offering in-person evaluations at this time. We follow strict guidelines to ensure our office is safe and clean for all of our clients. This includes wiping down high touch surfaces, spraying soft surfaces with disinfectant, and using air purifiers. A portion of assessments, such as interviews, may be able to be completed virtually. Please let us know if you’d be more comfortable with completing as much of your evaluation virtually so we can do our best to accommodate your preferences.
