Walnut Assoian, Paw.D. (Dogtorate)

Hi! I am Walnut, one of the Dogtors at Ally Psychological Services. I am still a puppy, so I don’t have years of experience (yet!) like the therapists here, but I work really hard to be as helpful as possible to all of the clients here, big or small.

I met my dad, Dr. Adam, when I was 3.5 months old and living with my foster family after being rescued from a high-kill shelter in Mississippi (shout out to TLC Rescue for saving me). From the minute we met, I knew he would be my new dad, and we instantly became best buds! He keeps calling me his son, but I am a mix of Chocolate Lab and Husky, and he’s a human…so I don’t know what he’s talking about, but I am just rolling with it because he gives me all of the snacks and toys.

I know starting therapy can be scary, so I am here to greet you in the waiting room, say “hi” in the hallway, get all of the scratches, and try to make you smile. Sometimes, I get a little too excited and give a lot of kisses, but I listen pretty well if you tell me to stop.

A Little About Me

When I am not at work, I love to run around and trick my dad into letting me out to pee when really, I just want to go chew on a stick and lay in the grass. I also really enjoy napping and cuddling when I get home from work.

A few Fun Facts

Education and Training

I am still pretty young but have been working really hard to learn new things. So far I know how to sit, lay down, and come back to my dad when I hear him call for me. But my biggest skill has been to give you lots of love when you’re in session talking about some tough stuff.

Let's Connect!

When we speak on the phone, we want to take the time to answer any questions you have about therapy with us. During our initial chat, we will go over policies and fees for the type and length of the sessions that fit you best.

We want you to make the most informed decision about your therapy journey.

Remember…

We invest our time, money, and energy into so many things each week: salon visits, gym memberships, personal training, dining out, and new stuff. Most people invest on visible and tangible things but neglect essentials they (and others) can’t see.

Ask yourself – are you doing everything you should be for your mental health?
